Seth A. Shapiro

Seth A. Shapiro, Director of Planning and Urban Design at BartonPartners Architects Planners, Inc., is trained as both an architect and an urban designer. His broad range of professional experience includes residential (both affordable and market rate) and mixed-use development, as well as expertise in public outreach and land entitlement. Seth has worked with private developers and public agencies throughout the country, including the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, Brandywine Realty Trust, BPG/ Equus Capital Partners, LTD, Toll Brothers Commercial, and multiple housing and redevelopment authorities. His most recent focus has been on multi-family and mixed use land planning, with a specific concentration on the repositioning of properties previously entitled for other uses.

Prior to joining BartonPartners in 2008, Seth was an Associate and Senior Urban Designer at WRT, where he began his career as an Architectural Intern in 1995. Seth, a native of King of Prussia, PA, earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami School of Architecture. In 1998, he returned to academia, receiving his Master of Architecture in Urban Design (MAUD) from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He practiced at the New York City firm of Cooper, Robertson & Partners as a development consultant for three and a half years before returning to WRT in early 2004.
